Barcode Databases
Getting more information from a barcode
Barcode database sites and smartphone barcode apps search the Internet for information about the particular barcode number that has been entered or scanned. The returned information typically includes the company name and/or contact details, relevant product information, and information on where to purchase the product.
You can search for an EAN-13 or UPC barcode number on various sites or apps (such as the International Barcodes Database, IBN Verified, or smartphone apps such as the Zebra app).
If you buy barcodes from us, you will receive free barcode/product registration on IBN Verified (International Barcode Network Verified Registry) and the International Barcodes Database. When you register your barcode number and product details on the International Barcodes Database, your product details will be displayed when customers search for your barcode number in online search engines (e.g. Google) or on some smartphone apps (e.g. the Zebra app).
Please note that some smartphone barcode apps only search in online stores such as Amazon.com (they don’t search in online barcode databases). This means that their database of barcode numbers/product details is minimal. The best smartphone barcode apps (e.g., the Zebra app) search Amazon and other online stores, as well as the primary online barcode/product databases.
